Clone Hard Drive to Another

- Clone hard disk to smaller drive is supported only if the target disk is equal to or larger than the used capacity of source disk.
- The partitions will fit the entire target disk by default, you can resize partitions to preferred layout in preview.
- Make sure there is no data or you have backed up data in the target disk, because the target disk will be erased in the cloning process.
- The data on the source disk will not be changed or lost during the cloning.

Step 1:Connect a hard drive to your computer after downloading and installing 4DDiG Disk Copy. Launch the disk cloning software and select “Clone Disk”, choose the source to clone. Click “Next”.

Step 2:Select the connected disk as target disk to receive cloned data from source disk, click “Next”.

Step 3:Preview the cloned disk and you can select a partition to adjust to preferred size by dragging the handle.
ImportantIf you are cloning a system disk, check “Use as a system disk”.

Step 4:After resize partitions to desired layout, click “Start” to clone the disk. Confirm the information and press “Sure” button to start.

Step 5:Wait for 4DDiG Disk Copy to clone your hard drive to another. How long it takes to clone a hard drive depends on the size of source disk. Wait patiently and do not operate on the source disk or interrupt the current cloning.
Now, you have successfully cloned source disk to target disk.
Clone Partition to Another Disk

With this partition cloning feature, you can clone specific partition to upgrade hard drive, transfer data or backup. The following is how to clone a partition.
- Clone partition to smaller drive is supported only if the target disk is equal to or larger than the used capacity of source partition.
- Make sure there is no data or you have backed up data in the target disk, because the target disk will be erased in the cloning process.
- The data on the source disk will not be changed or lost during the cloning.

Step 1:Connect a disk to your computer after downloading and installing 4DDiG Disk Copy. Navigate to “Clone Partition” and select source disk from the dropdown list. Then choose the partition you want to clone. Click “Next” to proceed.

Step 2:Select target disk and target partition to receive cloned data. If you select an unallocated space on the target disk, you can check if use the full capacity of the target partition or not. Then click “Next”.

Step 3:You will see a preview result on target disk. Press “Start” to proceed.
Note that the cloning process will overwrite all the data on the target partition. Confirm and click “Sure”.

Step 4:Wait patiently for partition cloning and do not operate on the source and target volumes.
Now you have successfully cloned the partition to the target partition.
